- Situation Most
of the properties are in the pretty Cotswold village of Overbury, some
are in the adjoining hamlet of Conderton,
and a few close by. The Estate is situated at the edge of the Cotswold
AONB on the southern slopes of Bredon Hill. Walk out of any of the properties
to discover miles of unspoilt farmland, served by a network of footpaths
and bridleways. It
is a unique place that many people fall in love with. It has a family atmosphere - perhaps because there are families
with several generations living in different properties. The
countryside round Bredon Hill certainly is stunning but, in addition
to the lovely old buildings, lots of entrepreneurs live
and work in this vibrant area. We are also lucky to be close to Stratford,
Malvern, Tewkesbury Pershore and Cheltenham for the theatre, cinema and other
arts.
- Broadband We
are connected to ADSL. Having broadband round
Bredon Hill greatly improves communications for businesses and home
users. It will help the local economy as more people are able to work
from home.
- Support from the Estate
team The
properties are not managed from an anonymous office. The Estate
has the back up of a building team to ensure our properties are
looked after to the highest standard. Although some building trades are
contracted out, the in house team work hard renovating and maintaining
the beautiful properties. Good maintenance is a high priority to ensure
that less goes wrong.
- Vibrant Community Overbury
has a thriving Primary School, Church and village hall. Conderton next door has a pub. There are currently active Cricket, Badminton
and Bowling Clubs, as well as a Book Club. Not far away both Kemerton & Beckford
have shops with post offices as well as pubs. The villages (and
those next door) have a large variety of clubs and organisations (tennis,
gardening, WI, Scouts etc). We have built a
purpose built nursery school to house the successful Manor Kindergarten in 2006. In 2004 we
had a very sucessful Roots and Fruits Festival sharing our gardens, arts
and history with visitors over a weekend. In 2000 we compiled a sucessful book about the village filled with photographs. See the community web site for
more information www.overbury.org
- Location The
area is very conveniently situated to get to any part of the country
quickly. It is well served by both motorways and rail services. M5
junction 9 is under 10 minutes away and Evesham, Cheltenham and Ashchurch
(Tewkesbury) stations cover several rail networks. Birmingham,
Bristol and Heathrow airports are all easily reached by car & public
transport (from local train & bus stations).
